The Pigtronix Infinity 2 Looper delivers a professional studio-grade arrangement workspace by combining the award-winning, high-fidelity audio engine of the full-sized original with an incredibly streamlined dual-footswitch layout. Operating with pristine 24-bit/44kHz digital processing pipelines, this ultra-low latency looping system preserves the exact frequency response, transient definition, and raw dynamic punch of your instrument. Up to 5 minutes of premium recording time can be split seamlessly across two independent, synchronized looping lanes. This infrastructure enables musicians to build multi-layered configurations without facing digital distortion or software buffer chokes.
Unlike basic loopers that require precise physical tap accuracy, the internal runtime logic executes commands exclusively at the loop boundary. Tapping a footswitch arms a command—such as an overdub recording step or a full loop lane change—causing the system to wait and perform the action perfectly on the downbeat of the next cycle automatically. This workflow enables a smooth, song-oriented arrangement style. Guitarists can cleanly toggle between complementary parts, and even delete an idle loop track while the active lane is spinning to open up immediate canvas space for a brand-new section.
The integration of a specialized Decay control knob introduces an innovative approach to soundscape layering that behaves like studio magnetic tape aging loops. Leaving the control turned fully clockwise lets stacked layers pile up permanently at maximum volume. Turning the dial counterclockwise forces old layers to progressively sink in volume upon every successive loop pass through the system, morphing overdub sessions into fluid, self-erasing textures. If a mistake occurs during a dense overdub, a single click can instantly snap the arrangement back to its pristine previous baseline via a reliable Undo/Redo function.
A dedicated mini mode selector button located above the left footswitch changes the switch assignment from a standard loop selector into an multi-effect engine trigger. Players can choose from five distinct performance setups, mapping the switch to execute Stop commands, single-cycle Once plays, rhythmic Stutters, precise Undo/Redo edits, or a dramatic Octave Shift that drops playback sample rates to half-speed.
