Ben teaches private lessons for all ages and skill levels. Every student is different, and lessons are customized to fit the individual needs of the student. Ben is skilled in many styles of traditional American music such as bluegrass, blues, country, and jazz, and he has many years of experience teaching all ages and skill levels. If you are interested in learning to play the upright (or electric) bass, banjo, guitar, ukulele or mandolin he can get you started and improve your skills at a pace that works for you.  He also has experience teaching workshops and group classes as well as specialized lessons for more advanced players.

Sasha Sullivan.

Sasha graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s of Music in violin performance, assisted by her private lesson teacher Hai Xin Wu, Assistant Concertmaster of the the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She has been a member of the Livonia orchestra, Michigan Philharmonic, and Dearborn orchestra. For the last 7 years she has taught in both group and private settings to students of all ages.

Sasha strives to offer music as a skill, as a practice, and most importantly as something to enjoy and take pride in.

Aaron Markovitz

Drawing on 25 years of experience on his instrument. Aaron has spent the past decade as a professional musician. After attending the Los Angeles music academy for guitar performance, he has toured extensively and has played both guitar and mandolin on numerous recording sessions with various Detroit based singer songwriters. Lessons are offered on both guitar and mandolin. Aaron is well versed in many styles including flat picking, finger style guitar as well as folk, blues and rock styles.

 

Travis Kulwicki

Travis Kulwicki is a freelance cellist and teacher based in the Ann Arbor area. He has a Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and 2 Master's Degrees from the University of Michigan in Cello Performance and Chamber Music. Prior to moving to Michigan, he performed with the Lincoln and Omaha Symphonies in Nebraska. He truly enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels and is excited to expand his studio in the Ferndale area. When not teaching or performing, he enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle (who is also a freelance cellist and author) and 3 kids.
