The JHS Mini A/B Box offers an essential hardware utility designed to manage complex signal paths on stage or in the studio without introducing digital coloration or impedance mismatches. Built inside an ultra-compact metal housing, this pedal operates via a completely passive circuit architecture. By using hardwired, premium 1/4-inch mechanical jacks and heavy-duty true bypass switching, the routing ensures your instrument's raw picking attack, frequency boundaries, and clean headroom pass through completely uncompromised. Because the audio signal path is entirely passive, the box introduces zero background hum, layout latency, or dynamic restrictions to your core sound.
Engineered for multi-functional application layouts, the internal wiring matrix is completely bidirectional, allowing it to function seamlessly as either a 1-input/2-output switcher or a 2-input/1-output selector. To provide clear visual indexing under bright stage lighting or inside dark tracking rooms, the pedal incorporates a low-profile bicolor LED indicator. When external 9VDC power is attached, the LED alternates between sharp Red and Blue to immediately signify which channel port is engaged. For minimalist rig configurations or emergency field routing, the power cable can be detached completely; the mechanical footswitch will continue to route audio signals flawlessly without power.
Connecting a single guitar to the independent jack allows the mechanical footswitch to act as an instantaneous selector between two separate amplifiers on a dual-amp stage rig. Conversely, reversing the connection allows a musician to plug two distinct instruments into the dual jack side—such as a humbucker-equipped guitar and a single-coil setup—and route them to a single amplifier input, allowing for rapid guitar changes between songs without pulling cables or risking loud popping noises.
Leaving one of the secondary 1/4-inch jacks entirely unplugged configures the hardware utility as an effective master kill switch.
