The JHS Summing Amp is a highly efficient utility pedal designed to take two separate mono inputs and seamlessly blend them into a single mono output. This active, buffered circuit is built to unlock parallel effects processing on your pedalboard, letting your favorite stompboxes operate side-by-side rather than stacked in series. By splitting your signal before your effects and using this unit to sum them back together at the end of the chain, your pedals stop interacting with or choking one another, opening up clean tonal options that are impossible with standard series routing.
Time-Based Effects: Recreate the iconic 1980s studio tones favored by guitarists like The Edge. Summing a quarter-note delay and a dotted-eighth delay in parallel allows both delay tails to ring out with maximum clarity, completely eliminating the muddy wash of a "delay repeating a delay."
Gain & Overdrive Staging: Run two separate overdrives or high-gain fuzz units side-by-side. Instead of the first pedal driving the second into oversaturation, the two gain signatures sit squarely on top of each other for a massive, multi-textured grit profile.
