Join us for an immersive fingerstyle guitar workshop exploring DADGAD guitar tuning. Whether you're drawn to Celtic sounds, folk traditions, or contemporary arrangements, this hands-on session will introduce you to the rich, resonant textures that make DADGAD so special.
We'll briefly dive into the tuning's history before exploring essential chords and scales. Then we'll work on iconic verses/riffs from the traditional tune "Water Is Wide" and Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir."
Through guided demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice, you'll discover why DADGAD's modal nature makes melodies ring like nothing else.
All levels welcome, just bring your curiosity, guitar, and a capo (optional). Leave with new sonic possibilities, detailed handouts, and the confidence to continue your DADGAD journey. A follow-up Zoom session one week later offers review and Q&A support.
This month's workshop will be followed by a solo fingerstyle concert by Bear Whitmer at 7:45pm
